We are looking to engage the services of a coordinator to support and develop the Creative Places Research and Development Programme in Shannon and to prepare applications for future / ancillary developments which may enhance the Creative Places Programme.

Requirements
The work of the coordinator will involve working with the Arts Officer and others in the Culture Section of Clare County Council and with other key stakeholders within Clare County Council and in the community.
The core work of the Coordinator will involve
- hands on support to artists, organisations and community groups involved in the planning, programming, delivery & management of the Creative Places Shannon Programme
- identify and address barriers to participation in the arts in Shannon particularly for those communities that are / feel disenfranchised currently
- to increase the understanding of communities and stakeholders as to what a creative place may look like/ feel like
- to enhance and build capacity locally (amongst communities, individuals and artists) to develop and deliver socially engaged projects
- to encourage participation in local and national initiatives and to increase engagement with the community and Clare Arts Office
- Conduct any research necessary to develop the projects or necessary to respond to needs / issues identified.
- Develop strategies to maximize engagement as relevant.
- Lead and develop structured supports for commissioned artists and participating organisations and individuals.
- Administer and manage the programme on behalf of Clare Arts Office, in conjunction with the Steering Group.
- Advise on project management including advising on management of budgets, procurement of relevant services, communications, promotion and press.
- Support the preparation and development of funding applications as the#y may arise
- Lead, write copy for and oversee the development of any printed information / documentation in relation to the programme including press releases, website content etc. (subject to approval by Clare County Council’s communications department)
- Oversee the documenting and evaluation of the project
- Assist in the development of a research brief and the procurement of a researcher (s) to evaluate the project and make recommendations as to how best to proceed with an application for the three year programme.
The Contract
The coordinator will report to the Arts Officer and
work for a minimum of one day per week (two half days is acceptable also). This requirement may increase to accommodate events, meetings etc. and the coordinator will be required to manage their own time in these circumstances. The coordinator may be required to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends on occasion.
the coordinator will be based in Shannon town, at a location to be confirmed, but hybrid working will be accommodated.
the coordinator should have access to their own laptop and phone for the efficient running of the programme.
flexibility in a start date can be accommodated but the coordinator will be responsible for submitting the final report on the project by the end of November 2024.
the contract is valued at a maximum of €14,000 inclusive of VAT
the coordinator will be paid monthly in arrears and must provide a tax clearance certificate and professional indemnity insurance indemnifying Clare County Council to the value of €6.5 million minimum. (These are not required on application, but will be required before the coordinator starts the position).
the coordinator will be required to attend monthly Creative Places network meetings (normally virtually on a Monday or Tuesday afternoon) as well as regular Arts Office staff meetings (normally held virtually, weekly) attendance at national conferences and events will be required on occasion for which the coordinator will be compensated / travel expenses will be covered.
If the coordinator is using his/her own transport they will be required to indemnify Clare County Council on their car insurance.
The coordinator will be required to complete a Garda vetting and reference checking process and will be required to do a Child Safeguarding Course as well as providing a Safe Guarding statement, prior to commencing on the project.
The coordinator will be required to abide by Clare County Council’s Child Protection, Communications and Data Protection Policies and any other policies that may be determined as relevant by Clare County Council including procurement and cyber security.
