NOTICE OF PROPOSED DEVELOPMENT BY A LOCAL AUTHORITY


A PROPOSED SERVICED SITES DEVELOPMENT (READY TO BUILD SCHEME: SERVICED SITES FOR NEW HOMES – CROÍ CÓNAITHE (TOWNS) FUND) ON COUNCIL LANDS AT ROOSKA, LISDOONVARNA, CO. CLARE

Rooska, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare


Nature & Extent of the Proposed Development

In accordance with Part XI, Section 179 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Part VIII, Article 80 & 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) notice is hereby given that Clare County Council proposes to carry out the following development at Rooska, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare


To carry out works within the confines of area outlined in the above map in Rooska, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare

The works involve the following:


  1. Construction of a new service road with associated footpaths
  2. Provision of Public Amenity Open Space
  3. Required Site Services with Utilities Connections provided to each site – 12 no. serviced sites in total


In accordance with the Habitats Directive, Appropriate Assessment Screening has been carried out on the project.

An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening determination has been made and concludes that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of the notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment and an EIA is not required.

Plans and particulars of the above development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy during normal working days from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. for a period not less than four weeks beginning on the date of publication of this notice at the following locations:


  • The Planning Department of Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare; and
  • The West Clare Municipal District Ennistymon Office, Ennis Road, Ennistymon, County Clare

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the proposed development would be situated, may be made in writing to the Senior Planner, Planning & Enterprise Development, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co.
