This winter, we are inviting primary schools from across Clare to take part in our exciting gritter-naming competition! It’s a great chance to help name seven of our hardworking gritters that keep our roads safe during icy weather.
Get creative and have fun! The winning name will be proudly displayed on the gritter for everyone to see, and the winner will have their moment to shine!

• Local Names: Gritty Casey, The Grits of Moher
• Fun Inspired: Gritty Gritty Bang Bang; Elsa
• Punny Names: Spready Mercury, Luke Snowalker
What You Could Win
• The winning names will be displayed on the gritter truck.
• A photo opportunity with the gritter they have named.
• A certificate of achievement from Clare County Council.
• The winning schools will be announced on local media and social media.
How to Enter
This competition is open to all primary schools in Clare. Teachers can submit a maximum of 7 entries per school via the online form. The online form can accessed below or by clicking HERE
