Notice of Proposed Development by a Local Authority

In accordance with Part XI, Section 179 of the Planning and Development Act 2000 (as amended) and Part VIII, Articles 80 & 81 of the Planning and Development Regulations 2001 (as amended) notice is hereby given that Clare County Council proposes to carry out the following development:

Nature and extent of proposed development

Restoration and alterations to the existing stable block to support tourism development including:

  1. Construction of new wall and entrance gates to provide Gardener’s yard
  2. Installation of storage container within new Gardener's yard.
  3. New double door ope and double doors in existing stone wall to access new ESB meter room, and
  4. associated ancillary services.

Location

The stable block, Vandeleur Estate, Feagarroge, Kilrush, Co. Clare.

In accordance with the Habitats Directive, Appropriate Assessment Screening has been carried out on the project.

An Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening determination has been made and concludes that there is no real likelihood of significant effects on the environment arising from the proposed development and as such an EIA is not required. Any person may, within 4 weeks from the date of this notice, apply to An Bord Pleanála for a screening determination as to whether the development would be likely to have significant effects on the environment.

This development proposes works adjacent to the exterior of a protected structure RPS No.: 876 NIAH No.: 20301212K27 and is within the demesne of Kilrush House/Vandeleur Estate RPS No.: 873 NIAH No.: 20301212 as noted in the Clare County Development Plan 2023-2029 Volume 4.

Plans and particulars of the above development will be available for inspection or purchase at a fee not exceeding the reasonable cost of making a copy at:

  1. The Planning Section, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare. V95 DXP2
  2. West Clare Municipal District Office, Kilrush Office, Town Hall, Kilrush, Co. Clare. V15 XK70
  3. The yoursay portal of Clare County Council website at: yoursay.clarecoco.ie/vandeleur-enclosure-walls

during normal working days from 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. for a period not less than four weeks beginning on the date of publication of this notice.

Submission or observations with respect to the proposed development, dealing with the proper planning and sustainable development of the area in which the proposed development would be situated, may be made in writing to the Senior Planner, Planning & Enterprise Development, Clare County Council, Áras Contae an Chláir, New Road, Ennis, Co. Clare up to and including 26th April 2024.
