Join expert speaker, Tom Barry for a talk on organic gardening. Tom has gardened organically all over the world, but his favourite place is of course on his own turf in Co Clare. His passion are apple trees and potatoes and he regularly speaks about gardening topics and will be bringing all his collected wisdom to Kilrush Library.

Join expert speaker, Rebecca Hussey who will inspire you to grow your own. Rebecca has been growing vegetables, herbs and flowers for many years. She delights in helping people transform spaces in to productive, beautiful gardens. Once you have tasted food straight from your own garden there will be no turning back.

Join expert speaker, Oonagh O’Dwyer, who will deliver a talk on sustainable gardening.
Oonagh is a graduate of the Organic College in Co. Limerick. She has been growing organically and speaking publicly on this for over 10 years.

Expert speaker, Lisa Kennedy, will give a talk on organic farming. Lisa is an experienced gardener who graduated from the Organic College. She is also a teacher of horticulture. 6.30pm in Shannon Library.

Jo Newton is hosting Garden expert talks on growing organically. For over 25 years Jo has lived in Co. Clare, off the mains grid, alongside productive organic gardens. For 20 of these years she worked with Irish Seed Savers as a seed curator for over 200 different crops of vegetable, grain and flowers each and every year.

Join renowned biodiversity expert Dr Fran Giaquinto for an engaging and informative workshop exploring the vital role of biodiversity in tackling climate change.

As part of Clare Climate Action Week 2025, Clare County Council is hosting a free Energy Clinic at Kilrush Town Hall on Tuesday, October 14th, from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Attendees can book 30-minute one-to-one advice sessions covering topics like retrofits, energy bills, solar energy, and available grants. Free informational materials will be provided. Pre-booking is essential due to limited places, reserve your spot online.
