Clare County Council has appointed a design team to develop 12 no. Serviced Sites for New Homes at Rooska, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare. This is part of the Ready to Build Scheme: Serviced Sites for New Homes Croí Cónaithe (Towns) Fund.
The development includes:
- Construction of a new service road with associated footpaths
- Provision of Public Amenity Open Space
- Required Site Services with Utilities Connections provided to each site
An open public consultation event with members of the design team will take place on Wednesday 18th February 2026 between 6pm and 8pm in The Pavilion Community Centre, Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare, V95 YW1C.
What is the Ready to Build Scheme for New Homes Croí Cónaithe (Towns) Fund?
The Ready to Build Scheme for New Homes Croí Cónaithe (Towns) Fund provides serviced sites in towns and villages for the building of a principal private residence and offers a discount off the market value of the site.
The purpose of the scheme is to encourage building new homes in towns and villages.
Using this scheme, it is proposed that Clare County Council intend to sell serviced sites with the above mentioned infrastructure and offering a discount of the market value in Lisdoonvarna, Co. Clare.
The scheme is aimed at individuals and families that want to build their own home in a town or village setting and live in it as their primary residence.
Categories of people who are eligible to apply are: First-time buyers, “Fresh Start” applicants, Individuals selling their current home to relocate to a town or village setting and people with particular needs such as older people or people with disabilities.
