Clare Local Community Development Committee (LCDC) recognises the importance of supporting initiatives around the county that promote population health and wellbeing.
What is the purpose of the Healthy Clare Micro Fund 2024?
The purpose of the Local Community Development Committee's Healthy Clare Micro Fund is to encourage and support community and voluntary groups to take an active part in improving and protecting health and wellbeing at all stages of life, reducing health inequalities, and creating an environment where everyone can play their part in a healthier Clare. The fund will encourage targeted actions in response to the identified 2 priority outcomes for a Healthier Clare.
Healthy Weight
Positive Mental Health Promotion
These priority outcomes align with the Healthy Clare Strategic Action Plan, Healthy Ireland Framework for Improved Health and Wellbeing and the draft Local Economic and Community Plan (LECP).
Who should apply?
Any Community and Voluntary group promoting health and wellbeing in County Clare may apply. Public sector organisations are not eligible to make an application. Groups are encouraged to register with the Clare Public Participation Network (PPN) and be actively involved in the PPN.
1. Support Fund for promoting a Healthy Weight under the following 4 pillars outlined below (Max Grant €2,000)
Healthy Eating
Physical Activity
Stress Management
Sleep Hygiene
2. Support Fund for promoting Positive Mental Health (Max Grant €2,000)
Please note that:
Closing Date for receipt of Application Forms is: Friday 14th June at 5:00 p.m. via https://submit.link/2za.
Once the project/proposal has been completed, applicants can submit a claim to the Healthy Clare Coordinator via the online platform Submit.com
All projects must be completed by 31st December and claimed by the 17th January 2025. After this time, the funding will be withdrawn.
Funding not claimed by the agreed deadline will be withdrawn.
The applicant must comply with Tax Clearance procedures.

The purpose of the survey is to evaluate the progress of the Healthy Ireland Round 4 Funding Programme which focuses on the following 2 outcomes areas;
(1) Healthy Weight for Clare
(2) Mental Health Promotion
This will allow us to capture the impact of Healthy Ireland Funding and other Health and Wellbeing initiatives in the county. It will also be a valuable resource for identifying gaps and the necessary actions needed to address challenges.
