Clare County Council is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join the newly established Kilrush Town Team.This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development and implementation of the Town Centre First Masterplan for Kilrush.
About Town Teams
A Town Team is a diverse group of local residents, business people, community representatives, and other stakeholders. These teams play a crucial role in driving positive, long-term changes within their community. They act as 'local experts', leading initiatives that enhance the town’s quality of life and economic vitality.

By joining the Kilrush Town Team, you will have the chance to make a real difference in your community. Your involvement will help shape the future of Kilrush and ensure it remains a vibrant and thriving town. As a member of the Kilrush Town Team, you will:
Participate in thematic working groups to help deliver key projects identified in the Kilrush Town Masterplan.
Attend monthly meetings (both physical and online).
Assist in preparing grant applications.
Support fundraising activities.
Who should apply?
We encourage expressions of interest from all community members, including previous Town Team members and new participants. We aim to build a team with broad representation from various interest groups, business sectors, and geographical areas within Kilrush. The collective skills of the team will help ensure the successful development and execution of the Masterplan.

If you are interested in making a difference in Kilrush and contributing to its future development, please complete the Expression of Interest form and submit on or before Monday, 1st July 2024.
Note: Submitting an Expression of Interest does not guarantee a position on the town team. There will be a selection process to ensure a balanced and effective team composition.

Expressions of interest are being invited from people to represent the town on a new Town Team.
A Town Team is a group of local residents, business people, community representatives and other stakeholders who come together to make their area a better place to live, work, visit and invest. They represent diverse sectors and backgrounds. They have a unique position in the community to become ‘local experts’ in their area and to take a lead on the development of interventions that can make positive long-term changes for the town.
Stage 2 Establishment of a Town Team
this is an upcoming stage for Kilrush Town Team and Kilrush Town Centre First Plan
Review of Expressions of Interest Forms received and identification of any gaps to ensure a representative group is established.
Stage 3 Community Engagement
this is an upcoming stage for Kilrush Town Team and Kilrush Town Centre First Plan
To help further inform the baseline stage, the team will be seeking feedback from those who live and work in the town. A Community Engagement programme is a key feature of informing and preparing a Town Centre First Masterplan for Kilrush.
Stage 4 Development of Masterplan
this is an upcoming stage for Kilrush Town Team and Kilrush Town Centre First Plan
Reflecting on the analysis undertaken and feedback in the first stages of the project, a high level strategy will be developed including opportunities to improve movement and accessibility within the town, the quality of the streets and green spaces in Kilrush, it's town centre services and facilities, and the potential for new uses.
Stage 5 Public Consultation
this is an upcoming stage for Kilrush Town Team and Kilrush Town Centre First Plan
Public Consultation will take place with the local community on the emerging ideas and the draft strategy for improvement and investment in Kilrush. Feedback will be considered and the Masterplan updated in response.
Stage 6 Masterplan Finalised and Approved
this is an upcoming stage for Kilrush Town Team and Kilrush Town Centre First Plan
In collaboration with the Town Team, the proposed Masterplan for Kilrush will be developed and finalised. The Masterplan will include a range of potential actions, initiatives, and projects to be implemented in the short, medium and longer term.
Final Report & Public Exhibition
this is an upcoming stage for Kilrush Town Team and Kilrush Town Centre First Plan
It is envisaged that the final Masterplan will be completed by June 2025 and a public exhibition will be arranged to showcase the final Masterplan.
