Must all band members be from County Clare?
If you are a band, applying on your own, at least one member must be from Clare.
Do all musicians need to provide tax details?
Payment will only be made to those musicians that provide tax details.
In the case of promoters, payment will normally be made to the promoter who will have to provide receipts of payments to musicians.
Are we eligible to apply if we have received funding under the LPSS Scheme?
You are not eligible to apply under this scheme if you are in receipt of funding other Support Scheme by the Dept. of Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media or any other business support scheme the Department has rolled out as a COVID support scheme. This includes the Night Time Economy Scheme.
Do we have to organise the events ourselves?
All elements of the event, including staging, health & safety, production, tech etc. must be managed by the applicants
Do we have to have our venues confirmed?
It would be useful to have the necessary permission to perform in outdoor locations, where possible.
Clare County Council will facilitate proposals that fall on Council / public lands once the necessary insurances are in place and proposals are compliant with any public by laws or any government regulations.
What insurance do we need?
All proposals must have evidence of adequate and comprehensive Public Liability insurance and should carry an indemnity to Clare County Council.
If applicants do not have this level of insurance they must submit a statement confirming that should they be awarded the contract, they are willing and able to raise insurance cover to these levels (in cases where the existing cover levels are lower) and that you will maintain these levels for the duration of the contract.
When will we know if we will be successful?
Successful candidates will be notified no later than 5pm Friday, August 12th, 2022
Is travel and accommodation covered?
Travel and accommodation are covered only in exceptional circumstances. Musicians should be from Clare and travel expenses should be included in their fees
Is the scheme just for musicians?
No, performers of all types may apply - writers (giving readings), dancers, actors etc. The scheme is for performances not for the creation of work.
We are running an event over a weekend. Can I apply for the whole event or just for the live performance element?
In the case of events happening over a period of time only the live performance element can be funded so when making your application you need to be very clear as to what elements of the event you are specifically seeking funding for
