Can artists based outside of Ireland eg the UK apply?
Yes, all proposals are welcome
I missed the site visit. Can I access the site?
Yes. The Inis Cealtra Visitor Experience will be open from April 4th to 27th September 2026.
Open from 10.00am to 16.30pm with last entry at 16.00pm
Admission will be complimentary for the 2026 season.
Do I have to include site installation costs in the budget?
Yes. Contractors will be finished on site before selection of work is made.
Can a foundry or studio make an application?
Yes, applications are welcome from such bodies but we would suggest that you clearly indicate who the primary / lead artist (s) will be.
Can our proposal encompass public engagement?
Yes, we would welcome such an approach.
At what point in the process does payment take place?
This will be negotiated with the successful artist at contract stage. We normally pay in two stages for commissions of this value – at the start and on completion. A mid-way point may be considered if required by the artist.
As the wider site works associateShould foundation, groundworks or additional site preparation be included within the artist budget?
For this commission the artist is responsible for delivering the completed artwork, including development, fabrication and installation costs.
